first post

so im going to beat even further to death a topic that is already lying bloody and bruised on the sports world floor: drugs in sports. i swear if i hear another top story on ESPN about this baseball player who took that steriod, or this swimmer who happened to get caught holding what only appears to me to be a vase of some sort, i am going to go on strike from watching sports...ok ok i didnt really mean that. i dont know if i could survive without my ESPN...its like oxygen to my body. but about michael phelps...he smoked weed. there, i said it. who fucking cares? first of all, dont get me started on the topic of legalizing pot. we all know that wont happen until the american society as a whole removes the proverbial stick from their ass. if it grows from the ground and it has survived millions of years of evolution and climate changes, then its fair game...no different than steaming some broccoli or carrots. second of all, the guy is 24 years old and the sports world has had him crowned and positioned as a role model since before the 2004 olympics when he was only 19. how can you expect a 19 year old to keep himself out of trouble and out of the negative limelight when anybody who has a phone around him is going to take a picture of him if they see him out at a party. he only has one of the most recognizable faces in the international sports world. kids have fun and experiment at parties, we have all done it at some point in our lives whether it was drugs, sex, or for the much older generations, rock and roll. he acted exactly like he should have acted...like a fuckin kid having some fun. im done with that. as far as steriods... A-rod? really? is this actually happening right now? does the game of baseball have anybody left who is actually as good as we think they are without performance enhancement? i dont care if it was a substance that was or wasnt banned at the time. im just tired of hearing about somebody else that is speculated or convicted of using. just stop doing it so i dont have to read or hear about it everywhere i look. thats all i ask for. thats pretty much all i am willing to talk about this whole topic. hopefully i will stop seeing it everywhere and this will be the first and last post about it...
